Items and Crafting in Ryzom

Item crafting in Ryzom is far more interesting than in most other games in the same genre. This is because the crafter in Ryzom has a great deal of control over the different stats of the item that they are crafting. There are a few key concepts that underpin the crafting activity in Ryzom.

Item Decay

The landscape of Atys is completely organic, far removed from the planet's mineral core. As a result all items on Atys are inclined to degrade with time and with use. [Read More]

Item Customization

As players progress through the game they need to change their equipment from time to time. This is because all equipment items have minimum skill thresholds below which they are not terribly effective and maximum skill thresholds beyond which they hamper the player's actions. [Read More]

Crafting Requirements

There are a large number of blue prints for different types of items in Ryzom. The blue prints define the basic stats of an item and the set of raw material types that are required to make it. Buffs & Enchantement

Items in Ryzom can apply bonuses to the different player energy types (hit points, stamina, sap and focus). The size of the bonus is determined by the craftsman, as described above, and the total bonus applied across all the player's equipped items is limited to the size of the energy bar in question. In other words, a player with 2000 hit points can be boosted by up to 2000 more hit points to a grand total of 4000. [Read More]
