Attack Magicians
The attack magic in Ryzom proposes a complete range of damage types with a variety of multi-target effects such as cone effects, radial effects and 'relay' effects that bounce from target to target, and so on.

These attack spells all have an immediate effect and never a lasting effect.

Link Magicians
All spells with a lasting effect in Ryzom take the form of 'links'. A link spell lasts as long as the caster maintains it and is broken when the caster moves, is interrupted or chooses to stop. Maintaining link spells entails a steady expenditure of Sap energy meaning that casters should only maintain link spells as long as strictly necessary. Casters who are maintaining links may not move or perform any other actions except casting more spells. There is no limit to the spells that can be cast while maintaining links.

The link magic in Ryzom covers a wide range of different effects from damage over time effects to skill and resistance de-buffs, 'slow' effects, 'stun' effects, and so on and so forth...
